- POLICE are questioning two men who may have
been part of a four-man gang that pistol-whipped
and robbed a 65-year-old, U.S.-based Guyanese,
last Thursday morning in his Albouystown home.

He was then taken into his house and beaten.
The men eventually left with
Singh’s television
set, VCR, and stereo
set and speakers.
Kaieteur News understands that Singh was sitting
on his front step listening to music and drinking.
He then went into his house to change the music,
but when he returned to the step, a man with a
handgun pounced on him.
However, when the gunman forced the U.S-based
Guyanese back into the house, a scuffle ensued
between Singh and the intruder.
The scuffle ended abruptly when the bandit struck
Singh in the head with his firearm, causing the
victim to collapse.
Three other men then entered the house and
proceeded to cart away his television and other
valuables.
One of the robbers discharged a round while
retreating from Singh’s house.
However, a source said that police ranks, who were
summoned by a resident, arrived on the scene
shortly after the men had left.
They reportedly arrested two Albouystown men who
fled into a yard after being spotted by the ranks.
Kaieteur News understands that police also
recovered a haversack containing a knife and
clothing in a nearby alleyway.
- Police also retrieved a toy gun and a spent 9mm
shell near the scene of the robbery.
